The Chioggia area, with its centuries-old traditions and deep connection to agriculture, is the birthplace of Veneto horticulture.
Here, between Chioggia and Sottomarina, nature and human ingenuity have come together for generations, transforming sandy soils into fertile fields capable of producing unique agricultural products such as radicchio.
Sand, an apparently inhospitable element, has become the ideal growing medium for the renowned “La Rosa di Chioggia” radicchio, now appreciated around the world.

The history of radicchio dates back to the 15th century, when the first chicory plants were introduced to the Treviso area.
